trained as a dress designer and worked in the rag trade for nearly sixteen years before being bitten by the writing bug.
Her short stories have been published in various magazines, including New Zealand Woman’s Weekly and New Zealand/Australia Woman’s Day. Her children’s pictures books, The Shrimp Who Wanted to be Pink and Sebastian’s Tail were published in 2003 and 2008 respectively.
Her first adult novel, Progressions, published by Zumaya, won the 2005 EPIC Ebook Award in Single Title/Mainstream for its ebook version. Daisies Never Die, the first book in the Rose Rountree series, was published in 2005 by Zumaya Publications in Canada; a new US edition released in 2011.
Judy lives in beautiful New Zealand. When not writing, she enjoys teaching creative writing through the Community Education program, reading, walking, and gardening. Occasionally she ‘sews’ something.
