Then, a pirate broadcast and a mysterious coded letter set 13-year-old Spencer Herold and the Lake Union Adventurers on a search for a madman who claims to be responsible for drowning Seattle in constant downpours, and whose goal, he says, is the total destruction of the city. Worse, it appears Spencer's family and their close friend Professor Luthor Baum are the main targets of the plot. With the help of his friends Maddy, Babu and Duber Dave and his younger sister Liz Loo--the Lake Union Adventurers, Spencer set out to decode the message and track down the villain before the Emerald City washes into the sea.
